A Good Weekend
Sunday, April 30th, 2006Things were good, we went to see a traveling Sesame Street™ production (costumed, not on ice) on Saturday morning. We had front row seats so Aspie Boy got high-fived by both Cookie Monster and Bert. Whoa.
His socialization classes are really helping –he’s eight months into them– I would have melted down at his age. It would have been much, much too much sound and light and color to deal with. Don’t get me wrong, I would have been thrilled, but utterly overwhelmed and probably had a melt down.
The show was about 90 minutes long with a ~20 minute intermission to facilitate potty breaks and enhancing the venue’s bottom line. Children’s Television Workshop’s too. Eight bucks for a mylar Elmo balloon is pretty outrageous, imo. So we emerged without undue monetary distress. Aspie Boy was just about at the tipping point anyway. He did a great job.
Today was ‘go to the park’ and so we did.
