Blog Software Update

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

A small update to the software that is behind the scenes here and at several other blogs live on my server. A little task for the weekend… Not that there isn’t 1 X 10^6 other things to write about, there just isn’t the time.

WordPress 2.0.5 - Ronan

It’s new release time. The latest in our venerable 2.0 series, which now counts over 1.2 million downloads, is available for download immediately, and we suggest everyone upgrade as this includes security fixes. We’re breaking the tradition of naming releases after jazz musicians to congratulate Ryan Boren on his new son (and first WP baby)…

[later:] Aaaand we’re updated. If things are wonky (in the technical sense) please let me know.

Also, if you have upgraded to Firefox 2.0 you may have noticed that it does on the fly spell checking. For those of us that can’t spell that’s Schweet!

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

It’s Great to be 5

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

We have had a fantastic weekend. Aspie Boy celebrated his fifth birthday on Saturday (10/21/2001) and we flew to Denver to be with Grandma, Grandpa and a multitude of cousins for the celebration. He did amazingly well with all the activity, flux and commotion with no meltdowns, hand-flapping or anything. He was really sociable, even with adults and children he had never met.

He did better than his Mom and I did. (whew!)

Early intervention seems to helping him, a lot.

Kevin Leitch on Autism Podcast

A fine interview with Kevin in the latest Autism Podcast.

Episode 43 | Kevin Leitch, Parent and Autism-Hub Creator

Episode 43: I speak with Kevin Leitch the creator and webmaster for The Autism Hub. Kevin is a powerful voice in the autism acceptance movement. His website is a one stop location for other bloggers-many of whom are adults with autism-who share his views.

It is good to hear people’s voices after becoming acquainted with their online writing.
