A What-Minded Professor?

Driving to work today, I was daydreaming at a traffic light (no, not quite like Jackson Browne’s The Pretender) and kind of abstractly thought of absent-minded professors forgetting where they lived and such. Probably because I was near the University.

Since we are now fond of saying that Uncle Al (Einstein) was likely on the spectrum, should the term be, “Autistic Minded Professor?”

Just a thought…

[edit: reminder to self: learn how to spell 'Einstein']

I’m trying to think if that is a better term than “nutty professor”…….

When I was growing up, that’s what I was called: absent minded, head in the clouds, and so on. In a way it’s good to have a more specific label.

My favourite describe of Einstein is Dennis Overbye’s, “Einstein’s image as an absent-minded, sockless dustball wandering around in a world of his own”*

I just mailed off my MSc Report to the graduate school for their review! w00t! Already got the ‘absentminded” part down here…
