Hey, there! I'm actually the author who was writing as Big Orange and I had the Autism blog "The Vision Splendid"-- you were kind enough to quote me here w/my old post about Shadow Traits.

That blog has been removed and I'm writing under a new pseudonym at a new website, and heck, I'm even living in a new state, but I'd be happy to throw my name into the hat for contact people. I'm not 100% convinced that my son's autism was NOT caused by a vaccine, but I DO believe that he was "fragile" and very prone to Autism and may have been pushed o'er the edge by the vaccine. I don't know if that disqualifies me or not, but I'm certainly not rabid about vaccinations and I think that the total ELIMINATION of vaccinations is just a dumb idea. Granted, some vaccines may not be 100% necessary and I certainly think mercury-based preservatives are also a very dumb idea, but I think preventative shots are necessary and if I can bring anything to the table, I'll be happy to.

Many thanx!

madam ovary: > What do you think?

I think that all voices are needed, perhaps especially those of us who can speak intelligently to the challenges that we and our kids face regardless of their/our functional level.

At least that's how I see it.

(great screen name, btw)

I replied and volunteered, but now I'm wondering if I would be effective as a representative. My kids are Aspie and very high-functioning and I'm sure to many people wouldn't seem as if they were really autistic. I'd hate to cloud the issue. What do you think?
