Big Doin’s ‘Round Here

Yesterday I was out of town on business, but today I have good news for Aspie Boy. Aspie Mom managed to get some tickets for the upcoming Wiggles show. For those of you not in the close acquaintance of kids under the age of eight (or so), the Wiggles are currently the 800-pound gorilla of children’s entertainment.

I suppose it might be of some concern, but he seems to do pretty good in these situtations, as long as we keep him out of the crush of people. That’s what [riding on] Aspie Dad’s shoulders are [is] for.

    Hi Aspie Dad,

    Welcome to the Hub!

I hate the Wiggles. I took Adam, and it was fine. Their shows are just too large unless you are sitting in the front rows. (ours was held in a baseball stadium so we couldn’t appreciate the show).

Hope it went well and all enjoyed, though. :)

    Hi Estee!

Thanks for the welcome! We got back just a bit ago from the Wiggles and I have to say, Aspie Boy had a great time. This is the second time for him at a big Wiggles show and he wasted not time getting into the show.

This venue is a college basketball arena that they block half off for shows. I’m guessing there were about 1800 people there (4th show of 4).

The visibility was pretty bad, but that didn’t seem to affect his enjoyment at all. :-)

The only analogy I can offer is the reaction my wife had when she got us tickets to see a favorite band of mine for my birthday a couple of years before our son arrived. She had never seen me at a rock and roll show before (we met *later* in life - a lá Aspies) and was,… surprised at how animated and boisterous I was. :-)

My son was a rock ‘n roll wild man at The Wiggles. Go figure.

So, yes, we had a great time!
